WHOLE CLOTH QUILTS
Quilts are made from 3 layers - 2 pieces of fabric with wadding sandwiched between by decorative stitching.
The top and bottom layers are each made from 1 piece of fabric (or pieces of the same cloth joined together to the required size).
The pattern is produced by the stitching that holds the layers together.

CUSTOMISED WHOLE CLOTH QUILTS
All the designs can be produced with fabric supplied by you - to match other furnishings in your room.
REQUIREMENT
2 pieces of fabric at least 13 1/2 x 11 1/2 ins (34 x 29 cms).
Please remember that the firmer the fabric the stiffer the quilt. Ideal fabrics are cotton lawn, silk and other fine fabrics
 
PIECED OR PATCHWORK QUILTS
The top layer (and occasionally the bottom layer as well) are made of pieces or patches of different fabrics organised into a pattern.
The 3 layers are then quilted in a stitched pattern as with a whole cloth quilt.

EIDERDOWNS
Eiderdowns are similar to whole cloth quilts but are more highly padded - usually with feathers (eider duck) - and are made to be the size of the top of the bed.
The stitching patterns are very similar to those of quilts.
