| HOLBEIN - SMALL PATTERN This design of carpet was woven in Western Anatolia from at least the early 15th century and named after the painter Hans Holbein (c1497-1543) who depicted carpets in his paintings. These carpets were luxury items because of the expense of transporting them and were mostly used on tables. |
